How to Deal with an Aggressive Cat (Video)

In this short video from Howcast, we have some helpful tips on what to do if you have a cat that bites and scratches. It’s a common problem that most cat owners will have to deal with at some point in time, (especially with young cats).

In the guide it is suggested that when your cat is acting aggressively, you need to stop any interaction with them. One of the best things you can do is leave the room yourself, or lure your cat into another area to calm down.

You should try to avoid punishing the cat. Using spray bottles or loud noises or hitting and yelling at the cat are not recommended. Very often a cat will become more aggressive when you try to implement that type of technique. Or they will think you are playing too and therefore reenforcing their aggressive behaviour.

Instead of punishment, the video advises that you try to lure the cat into another room. Once they’re in there, shut the door, and give them some time to calm down.
