Worried Cat AKA Bum, is a 2 year old rescue cat with permanently worried eyes and the Internet can’t seem to get enough of his adorable pictures.
After Bum was featured on the cat-lovers blog Love Meow, images of his worried expression began flying around the Internet. His owner Courtney Morman created the Instagram account ‘Worried_Cat_AKA_Bum’ a week ago and the account quickly gained hundreds of followers.
Bum and his litter-mates came to the San Diego Humane Society’s Kitten Nursery; a program that provides 24 hour care to underage kittens. Courtney who works there, fell in love with him and decided to adopt him. Bum is named after the San Francisco Giant’s pitcher Madison Bumgarner. ‘I knew I wanted to name him something silly based on the way he looks. So Bum was perfect,’ Courtney said.
Despite his cross-eyed appearance he has no trouble seeing and he now helps foster other rescued kittens. ‘His eyes and lids are shaped a little funny, but other than that, he’s totally fine. ‘He’s been seen by a vet and nothing is wrong with him,’ Courtney said. She went on to say he’s an expert at catching bugs and chasing down his toys.
Although he always looks worried, Courtney says he has a very loving, smart and active cat. He can open drawers and zippers. ‘If he wants something from my purse, he will unzip it and take it. So I have to keep everything on lock down.’
Bum also has helped care for other rescue cats and he loves kittens. He’s even assisted Courtney in fostering litters of young cats. ‘He even spends time with injured cats that are being rehabilitated,’ she said. Courtney also has a three-legged cat named Admiral Kitty Kingman.
